Quickly create a stable pit thanks to three lactic acid bacteria strains

A pit naturally contains unwanted micro-organisms that will inefficiently preserve the pits if no action is taken. The various lactic acid bacteria strains that are found in large quantities in Feedmore lower the pH very quickly. In addition, they give unwanted micro-organisms much less chance to develop (figure 1). They prevent losses during ensiling and ensure the maintenance of nutritional values. This results in a higher milk yield and/or savings on concentrates.

Figure 1 – The pH progression of Feedmore ULV / WSP and the time savings achieved in the preservation process. After 3 days the pit is stable. Two lactic acid bacteria strains initiate the reduction of the pH. They already do their work at higher pH values and when there is still some oxygen in the holes. These lactic acid bacterial strains are facultatively aerobic. The third lactic acid bacteria strain ‘Plantarum’ comes into action when the pit is oxygen-free and is most efficient between pH 6 and pH 4.

Prevent heating and preserve taste

When removing silage, the silage comes into contact with oxygen again. Undesirable micro-organisms such as fungi, yeasts and oxygen-loving bacteria are then given the opportunity to grow. This means that nutritional values are lost if no action is taken. In addition, molds produce harmful mycotoxins. These have negative effects on animal health and production. Silage agent Feedmore ULV / WSP contains a unique propionic acid bacterial strain that suppresses this process, inhibits heating and at the same time preserves the palatability of the silages.

Unique enzyme technology

The enzymes in the silage agent have a significant effect on digestibility while retaining the structural value of the crop. These enzymes have the ability to release carbohydrates for rumen bacteria to absorb from difficult-to-digest cell structures in roughage. Increased production when using Feedmore is a proven consequence of this. The enzymes also make extra sugars available to the lactic acid bacteria. As a result, sufficient energy will be available to ensure that the preservation process runs quickly, even under poor ensiling conditions.

Application

Feedmore inoculant available in three forms

Feedmore Combi ULV

  • Silage agent in water-soluble powder suitable for Ultra Low Volume (ULV) dosing systems
  • 83 grams of bacterial preparation
  • For 50 tons of silage
  • Easy to mix in the bottle with 1 liter of water
  • Remains in homogeneous solution for 24 hours after mixing

Also suitable for dosing systems with little water. Refilling is then necessary less often.

Feedmore Combi WSP

  • Ensile agent in water-soluble powder suitable for liquid application
    175 grams of bacterial preparation
  • Good for 50 tons of silage
  • Soluble in at least 10 liters of water
  • Remains in solution for a long time after mixing

Feedmore Combi granules

  • Silage agent in granulate form for dosing equipment on chopper on turnip wagon
  • 20 kg per bag
  • Good for 50 tons of silage
  • Suitable for various granulate dosing systems
  • Very easy to spread by hand
  • Ensure good distribution
