DairyStar Calcium Boost Bolus

The Calcium bolus with three calcium forms.

Around calving, the calcium requirement in the blood of cattle increases rapidly. If the animal itself cannot meet this calcium requirement quickly enough, the risk of milk fever increases sharply. The unique Calcium Boost Bolus supports the calcium balance during and after calving.

The Calcium Boost Bolus contains three forms of calcium. These each have a different absorption rate in the animal, so that calcium needs are met for a longer period of time. The total calcium content is 45g (calcium formate and calcium acetate). The bolus also contains vitamin D3, which supports calcium absorption from the intestines.

Does not irritate the rumen or mucous membranes, ideal for use in older cows.

Application

For preventive administration:
– 1st bolus at the first signs of calving
– 2nd bolus immediately after calving
– 3rd bolus 12 to 15 hours after administering the 2nd bolus
– 4th bolus 12 to 15 hours after administering the 3rd bolus

If there is a calcium deficiency and treatment with an infusion:
1st bolus 2 to 3 hours after the infusion
2nd bolus 12 to 15 hours after the first bolus
