Veeteelt magazine has published a PhD research from Wageningen University showing the impact of various measures on the hoof health. In addition, attitudes of farmers and their assessment of the impact of these measures were researched. One of the outcomes is that improving the cow’s resting area is a cost-effective measure. According to the research introducing a cow mattress has the biggest improvement, that earns 7 euros per cow per year.
